Job summary

City of Columbia SC is seeking a Park Maintenance Worker to support the Three Rivers Greenway and city facilities. The role involves directing maintenance projects, groundskeeping, and landscaping to keep park areas attractive, clean, and safe for visitors.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Two (2) years of relevant prior experience.
• Valid South Carolina Class “D” Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Directs the safe operation of power and hand tools and equipment.
• Maintains park facilities for daily use and prepares them for reservations.
• Plans and assigns daily duties for staff and sets priorities.
• Coordinates and schedules tasks to meet deadlines.
• Assists in inventory control of equipment and supplies.
• Performs routine maintenance on grounds and facilities.
• Maintains a safe work environment and public safety.
• Responds to public inquiries and provides information about parks.
