Job summary

Dakota County is seeking two Park Keeper II positions to maintain and enhance park and facility grounds across the Dakota County Park System. You will lead staff on various projects including trails, turf, trees, and structures, with winter responsibilities like grooming trails and snow removal.

The roles require strong maintenance skills, CDL eligibility, and experience in park operations. Work locations include Lebanon Hills Park (Eagan) and Spring Lake Park (Hastings); benefits are available.

Qualifications

• One year certificate/degree in Grounds Maintenance, Natural Resources, Landscape; Horticulture, Design and Construction, Park Maintenance, Architecture, or related field.
• Two years of grounds maintenance experience (turf, tree care, forestry, landscaping, snow removal, building/trail maintenance).
• Equivalent education/experience to total 3 years in grounds maintenance.
• Valid driver’s license with ability to obtain Class A CDL within first year.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and enhance park and facility grounds; lead staff on tasks and projects.
• Groom cross-country ski trails and perform snow removal in winter.
• Operate fleet vehicles, power tools, and equipment safely; assist in training staff.
