Job summary

State of Missouri, Cuivre River State Park, is seeking a skilled facilities and grounds technician responsible for construction and repair work, maintenance of park infrastructure, and stewardship activities. The role includes overseeing HVAC, electrical, plumbing tasks, and lead roles on projects, with required weekend work April–October.

Qualifications

• Accountability for high-quality, timely results and safety compliance.
• Knowledge of building construction materials and methods.
• Mechanical knowledge of machines, repairs and maintenance.
• Knowledge of plumbing and pipefitting tools and systems.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Four to six years of on-the-job training across trades (electrical, plumbing, carpentry, concrete and masonry, painting, plastering, mechanical repair).
• Lack of post-secondary education will not be used as sole denial criteria.

Responsibilities

• Lead or participate in construction projects and facility repairs (electrical, carpentry, plumbing, painting, masonry).
• Diagnose and oversee routine, technical, and complex repairs of HVAC systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on vehicles and equipment.
• Direct grounds maintenance and park infrastructure inspections.
• Monitor water/wastewater systems; perform testing and maintain records.
• Purchase operating supplies and monitor inventory per procurement rules.
• Assist with resource stewardship and participate in controlled burns and habitat management.
• Maintain park rules knowledge and participate in trainings.
