Job summary

Global Medical Response (GMR) seeks a Lead Paramedic Basic to provide emergency medical care and transportation while serving as a frontline leader for paramedics and EMTs. You will coordinate field operations, mentor staff, and ensure compliance with medical protocols and safety standards.

You will lead daily field activities, monitor staff performance, and collaborate with management, centers, and facilities to deliver high-quality patient care and efficient EMS delivery.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Paramedic experience.
• Some leadership experience preferred.
• Education: High School Diploma or GED; some advanced education preferred.
• Credentials/Licenses: State Paramedic Certification; State Driver’s License with clean driving record; BLS, ACLS, PALS/PEPP, BTLS/PHTLS certifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform the required daily functions of a Paramedic Basic and be readily available to assist field personnel.
• Monitor, communicate with, and support field staff in their tasks and objectives.
• Assess each call situation to determine the best course of action and make or approve all medical decisions of the unit.
• Act as a liaison between field staff, management, communications centers, healthcare facilities, and patient families.
• Work collaboratively with all allied health and public safety personnel to ensure excellent customer service and the best possible patient care.
• Ensure appropriate system status management goals are upheld by monitoring system status and engaging with the communications center to pre-assign, reassign, and divert crews for efficiency.
• Oversee proper/timely deployment of field staff and ensure units are serviceable; monitor sites for cleanliness.
• Keep thorough records of issued equipment and ensure return after shifts.
• Assist road crews and supervisory staff with PCR transmission.
• Ensure staff adheres to GMR protocols and resolve/escalate issues as needed.
• Report and address workplace injuries, vehicle incidents, and property damage.
