Job summary

The Lead Paramedic role at MaineHealth EMS Scarborough Base provides both basic and advanced life support during emergency pre-hospital and interfacility transfer care to patients when indicated by the patient’s injury or illness in accordance with state and local protocols. It also organizes and directs the daily operations of the base to ensure rapid, high-quality care.

This full-time position requires completion of a Paramedic Course and a current state Paramedic license, with BLS and PIFT

Qualifications

• Paramedic Course completion required.
• Valid state Paramedic license and BLS certification required.
• PIFT certification within 6 months of start date.
• Driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic and advanced life support in emergency pre-hospital and interfacility transfer care.
• Organize and direct daily operations of the Scarborough EMS base.
• Work rotating 12- and 24-hour shifts as part of a full-time schedule.
• Collaborate with teams to ensure high-quality patient care and safety.

Summary

The Lead Paramedic role provides both basic and advanced life support during emergency pre-hospital and interfacility transfer care to patients when indicated by the patient’s injury or illness in accordance with state and local protocols. Organizes and directs the daily operations of assigned base.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities (KSAs)

• Education: Completion of Paramedic Course required.
• License/Certifications: Current applicable state(s) license as a Paramedic required. Valid Driver’s License required. Current BLS Certification required. PIFT Certification required within six months of start date. Locations in New Hampshire require a NH Paramedic License with a National Registry Paramedic License.
• Experience: One year of relevant experience preferred.

The pay range for this position is $27.27to $36.88 per hour.

Compensation for part-time positions isdeterminedon a prorated basis consistent with the scheduled hours and applicable full-time equivalent (FTE).
