Job summary

Machine Learning Technologies, LLC is seeking an experienced Lead Firewall Engineer / Cybersecurity Engineer in New Jersey. The role centers on enterprise firewall administration, Palo Alto Networks, and perimeter security engineering for on-prem and cloud environments.

You will lead policy reviews, implement controls, and coordinate with infrastructure and cloud teams. Requirements include 6+ years in cybersecurity engineering, hands-on Palo Alto experience, and solid TCP/IP, VPN, and security

Qualifications

• 6+ years of cybersecurity engineering experience with a strong focus on network and firewall security.
• Extensive hands-on experience administering Palo Alto Networks firewalls in large enterprise environments.
• Strong knowledge of firewall policies, rule reviews, configuration changes, security architecture, and troubleshooting.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching, VPNs, WAN/LAN, and network security architecture.
• Experience with IDS/IPS, WAF, SIEM, EDR, DLP, and CASB.
• Experience supporting security operations in AWS and Microsoft Azure.
• Knowledge of vulnerability management, risk assessments, threat analysis, and incident response.
• Scripting and automation experience using Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
• Familiarity with NIST, CIS Controls, PCI-DSS, HIPAA, and ISO 27001 security standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead network and perimeter security engineering and enterprise firewall infrastructure management.
• Strengthen security controls and support cloud and enterprise cybersecurity initiatives.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, network, and cloud teams; provide technical guidance on security.
• Prepare security architecture diagrams, runbooks, and operational procedures.
