Job summary

Steuben Foods is seeking a candidate for a palletizing/packaging role in Western New York. The position emphasizes food safety, quality, and adherence to GMPs, with a focus on accurate pallet setup and case handling.

The role requires lifting 30-40 lbs, teamwork, and electronic hand jack certification, with a wage of $20.00 to $21.00 per hour. Schedule varies with production needs; benefits include family events and on-site meals.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School diploma or equivalent.
• Basic understanding and execution of food plant GMPs, sanitation, and cleanliness requirements.
• Quality mindset.
• Ability to work in a team oriented environment.
• Capable of lifting and stacking 30-40 lbs throughout shift.
• Electronic hand jack certification needed.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for food safety and quality.
• Know pallet stacking patterns on all products.
• Pallet quality inspection – no nails/no loose or missing slats.
• Check for defects on case – missing codes, missing straws, trays glued, shrink wrap sealed properly, correct cardboard.
• Follow proper lifting techniques.
• Print out pallet tags correctly.
• Ensure that all cases are stacked on individual pallets according to specified filler and spec sheets (no mixing of cases on pallets).
• Working with Operators/PQI’s on handling line clearances.
• Set up/staging of sample plans/holds.
• Relief of palletizers for breaks/lunches.
• Checking all packaging codes.
• Electronic hand jack certification needed to move pallets.
