Job summary

Steuben Foods is seeking a Processing Maintenance Technician for Elma, NY. You will support production by maintaining processors, breddos, mixes, silos and CIP systems, reading manuals and work orders, and ensuring food safety and quality.

The role requires an Associate’s degree in an engineering field or equivalent experience, PLC troubleshooting, and knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and VFDs. Shift will be 2nd and 3rd, with after-hours availability.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in an engineering discipline or life work equivalence.
• Liquid food packaging and processing experience or equivalent.
• Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders for maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality and timely mechanical support to production equipment.
• Perform scheduled maintenance and repairs on processors, breddos, mixes, silos, and CIP systems.
• Read manuals and work orders to execute preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Communicate reliability concerns to supervision clearly and promptly.
• Work in a team to maintain a safe workplace and quality product.
• Assist during training periods and support plant safety initiatives.

Education/Prerequisite Requirements:

• Associates Degree in one of the Engineering disciplines or equivalent related fields or life work experience equivalence
• Liquid food packaging and processing experience or equivalent

Equipment/Training Knowledge:

• Experience in and knowledge with PLC troubleshooting and logic preferred
• Knowledge in motor control and VFD’s, and experience with Servo control preferred
• Basic knowledge and experience with instrumentation, sensors, photo-electrics, analog circuit control and low voltage power distribution is a must
• Experience with Hydraulics and pneumatics are a plus
• Experience with a computer maintenance system for work order processing
• Ability/willingness to work in plant environment under stressful conditions such as heat and cold, high places and confined spaces and have full mobility with ability to climb ladders and stairs.

Schedule:

• 2nd & 3rd SHIFT ONLY
• Availability after-hours
• Shift assigned or flexible schedule based on need

Work Specifications – Responsibilities:

• Responsible for food safety and quality
• Supporting production by providing high-quality and timely mechanical support of equipment
• Effectively communicate reliability concerns to supervision
• First 4-8 weeks training with Grade 3 APO on how processors are ran.
• Performs scheduled maintenance repairs of processors, breddos, all mixes, silos, and CIP system.
• Able to read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required preventive and corrective maintenance
• Willingness to participate in a team environment to work towards a common company goal of creating a safe workplace and quality product.

Rate of Pay: $31.90 to $32.90
