Job summary

Steuben Foods is hiring for a 3rd shift blending operator in Western New York. The role requires following GMP and safety procedures, accurate CIP documentation, and basic math proficiency.

You will lift up to 55 lbs, operate blending equipment, and record blending data with attention to detail. Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma, forklift training, and the ability to learn new processes in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School diploma or equivalent.
• Strong math skills; ability to use a calculator proficiently.
• Must follow GMP’s, sanitation, cleanliness and safety requirements.
• Some mechanical aptitude; capable of lifting 55 lbs repeatedly.
• Must have completed Forklift Operator Training.
• Records CIP information accurately on CIP charts and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate blending equipment and CIP hookups as directed.
• Follow leadsperson or supervisor instructions; maintain safety and quality.
• Maintain clean and sanitary work areas and equipment.
• Verify ingredient weights against bills and document blending data.
• Sample and receive bulk deliveries; check hookups and bulk receiving procedures.
• Complete paperwork neatly and accurately; follow blend sheet directions.

Education/Prerequisite Requirements:

• Minimum High School diploma or equivalent

Equipment/Training Knowledge:

• Knowledge of CIP procedures
• Must follow plant GMP’s, sanitation, cleanliness and safety requirements
• Some mechanical aptitude

Work Specifications – Responsibilities:

• Displays good work ethics and works well with management and other blenders.
• Must be able to follow and carry out direction given by leadspersons or supervisor.
• Capable of lifting 55 lbs. repetitively.
• Shows the ability to learn blending and CIP hook ups.
• Exhibits sufficient math and calculator skills.
• Successfully completed Forklift Operator Training course.
• Records required CIP information on CIP charts, and individual pieces of equipment (tags) with date, time and initials.
• Paper work is neat, accurate and complete. Uses the pull sheet when staging to verify all ingredients and follows blend sheet directions.
• Demonstrates basic understanding of Pre-Operation Blending preparations.
• Demonstrates the ability to identify (and report) any abnormalities of ingredients or blends, and the importance to provide safe quality product.
• Exhibits basic understanding of blending procedures + CIP circuits in area of operation.
• Must be able to sample and receive all bulk fluid deliveries; familiar with hookups and bulk receiving procedures in area of operation.
• Understands the importance of checking actual weights against the bills, and maintaining accurate blending documentation.
• Displays proficiency in maintaining all work areas and equipment in a clean and sanitary condition.
• Understands the importance of the cleaning, sanitizing & proper use of manual blending utensils i.e. Scoops, Mixing Paddles, Scrapers etc...
• Exhibits a basic understanding of the purpose, operation and cleaning of ALL Supplemental Blending Equipment used in thearea of operationi.e. Pumps, Mixers, Breddos etc.
• Follows all GMP requirements, and SOP’s pertaining to thearea of operation.
• Performs any other duties as assigned

Pay Range: $24.75 - $25.75
