Job summary

Brown and Root Industrial Services is seeking an experienced painter to prepare and finish a variety of surfaces, including walls, equipment, and structures. Responsibilities include masking, mixing coatings, filling joints, sandblasting, priming, and applying finishes.

You will read work orders, determine material needs, and work at heights with proper safety protocols. This role emphasizes precision, adherence to standards, and safe operation of power tools and spray equipment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of application techniques and surface prep.
• Ability to plan work and select proper tools.
• Ability to apply measured calculations to estimate materials and cost.

Responsibilities

• Cover surfaces with drop cloths and masking tape to protect areas.
• Mix coating additives to thin or improve drying and adhesion.
• Fill cracks and joints with caulk or putty using caulking guns or putty knives.
• Remove rust and old paint using sandblasting and power tools.
• Apply primers or sealers to prepare surfaces for finish coats.
• Select paint according to color schemes and specifications.
• Apply finishes to large surfaces using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment.
• Read work orders and determine requirements from supervisors.
• Set up scaffolding and ladders to work at height.
