Job summary

Brown & Root Industrial Services is seeking a coatings technician to apply finishes to walls, ceilings, and various surfaces using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment.

The role requires surface preparation, color matching, and knowledge of different paints and materials, while observing safety and project guidelines. Strong manual dexterity and the ability to work overhead are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; must be at least 18 years old; able to work well with hands.
• Ability to judge colors is important.
• Knowledge of different application techniques, and proper care/safe use of paint, solvents, and adhesives.
• Physically able to work long periods with arms raised overhead.

Responsibilities

• Apply paint, varnish, and other finishes to walls, ceilings, and surfaces with brushes, rollers, and spray machines.
• Prepare surfaces by cleaning, removing old coatings, and filling cracks/holes.
• Identify materials used in paints and suitable types for plaster, wood, brick, and metal.
• Maintain color accuracy and consistency in finishes.
• Follow safety and project rules; perform other duties as required.
