Job summary

Maury County Public Schools seeks a skilled painting maintenance worker to lead district painting projects. You will oversee staff, ensure safety standards, and apply coatings to various surfaces, including walls, ceilings, and doors. The role requires basic maintenance experience and a valid driver’s license. Expect hands-on tasks, scaffolding setup, and collaboration with the Maintenance team.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Oversee painting job through the district.
• Ensure staff completes all jobs necessary.
• Uphold OSHA safety requirements for all staff.
• Report issues to Maintenance Manager.
• Ensure timely completion of tasks.
• Apply paint to surfaces (walls, floors, doors).
• Mix and apply paint, varnish, enamel, and other finishes.
• Prepare surfaces (scrape, sand, prime, seal).
• Clean walls to ensure proper condition.

Qualifications

• Three to five months maintenance experience (or related) or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position

Essential Functions

• Oversee painting job through the district
• Make sure staff is completing all jobs necessary
• Ensure proper OSHA safety requirements are being upheld/followed by all
• Report any issues or concerns to Maintenance Manager
• Ensure completion in a timely manner
• Apply paint to surfaces, walls, floors, doors, and
• Mix, match, and apply paint, varnish, shellac, enamel, and other
• Scrape, sandpaper, prime, or seal surfaces prior to
• Clean walls to ensure proper
• Cover surfaces with cloth or plastic to ensure
• Calculate amounts of required materials and estimate
• Fill cracks, holes, and joints with caulk, putty, plaster, or other fillers, using caulking guns or putty knives.
• Erect scaffolding, movable and immovable staging and various rigging to gain access to difficult areas; moves furniture and equipment as necessary.
• Remove fixtures such as pictures, doorknobs, lamps, and electric switch covers prior to painting.
• Select and order paint from
• Apply several coats according to paint
