Job summary

Maury County Public Schools is seeking a skilled painting/maintenance worker to oversee district-wide painting projects and ensure tasks are completed safely and on schedule. The role requires coordinating with staff and applying paints and finishes to various surfaces.

Ideal candidates hold a high school diploma and have 3-5 months of maintenance experience or an equivalent combination of education and training, plus a Tennessee driver's license. OSHA safety familiarity is preferred.

Essential Functions

• Oversee painting job through the district
• Make sure staff is completing all jobs necessary
• Ensure proper OSHA safety requirements are being upheld/followed by all
• Report any issues or concerns to Maintenance Manager
• Ensure completion in a timely manner
• Apply paint to surfaces, walls, floors, doors, and
• Mix, match, and apply paint, varnish, shellac, enamel, and other
• Scrape, sandpaper, prime, or seal surfaces prior to
• Clean walls to ensure proper
• Cover surfaces with cloth or plastic to ensure
• Calculate amounts of required materials and estimate
• Fill cracks, holes, and joints with caulk, putty, plaster, or other fillers, using caulking guns or putty knives.
• Erect scaffolding, movable and immovable staging and various rigging to gain access to difficult areas; moves furniture and equipment as necessary.
• Remove fixtures such as pictures, doorknobs, lamps, and electric switch covers prior to painting.
• Select and order paint from
• Apply several coats according to paint
• Tape off areas when

• Clean up all equipment, including brushes and spray

Salary: $24.41 - $28.30 per hour
