Job summary

Pregis is seeking a Lead Packer to supervise Packers across multiple production lines, ensuring product quality and on-time delivery while enforcing SOP compliance.

The role involves coaching staff on QA practices, coordinating with QA Inspectors and the Quality Manager, and supporting 6S/workflow improvements. Spanish bilingual is a plus, with a full-time on-site position in McDonough, GA.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; supervisory experience preferred.
• 3–5 years in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to lead a team and communicate effectively, including Spanish is a plus.
• Must be able to read a ruler and micrometer.
• Flexible with overtime and shift changes.

Responsibilities

• Lead team of Packers for multiple production lines by monitoring performance and providing direction.
• Ensure SOPs are followed during the production process.
• Ensure correct packaging components are in place for each varying job order.
• Maintain integrity of SAP inventory management system and ensure finished good load flags are placed correctly.
• Monitor jobs, including packaging, for defects and inaccuracies per TMS quality standards; correct and report any non-conformities and initiate hold procedure when needed. Collaborate with assigned QA Inspector throughout the shift as needed.
• Ensure Packer rotations and breaks occur per company policies.
• Work with Production Supervisor to determine manning schedules and overtime allocations.
• Accurately update the upcoming shift to ensure a smooth shift handoff; communicate regularly with staff to minimize delays.
• Monitor mailer production, including packaging, for defects and inaccuracies per quality standards; correct and report any non-conformities and initiate hold procedure when needed.
• Train Packers on Quality Assurance (QA) SOP; regularly conduct audits to ensure quality inspections are being performed.
• Work with Quality Manager and Inspectors and Operations to resolve issues per QA SOPs.
• Perform 6S and SOP audits regularly as required.
• Help to identify raw material defects, captures relevant information (lot codes, samples, etc.) and forward to Quality Manager.
• Exposure to moving equipment and humidity may exceed 80%.
