Job summary

PDDN INC. is seeking a Packaging Engineer to lead end-to-end engineered packaging projects for Vehicle and Energy platforms in Austin.

You will collaborate with Design, Manufacturing, NPI, and Operations to define packaging requirements and ensure successful implementation across domestic and international supply chains. You will apply CAD tools (Creo, SolidWorks), GD&T, and tolerance analysis to deliver robust packaging solutions, while monitoring KPIs and driving continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Packaging, Industrial Design, or equivalent.
• Strong CAD skills (Creo, SolidWorks) with GD&T and tolerance analysis experience.
• Familiarity with machining, welding, and injection molding processes.
• Knowledge of materials such as aluminum, steel, composites, and foam.
• Experience designing to ASTM and Mil-Spec standards.
• Strong packaging testing and validation knowledge.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining quality results.
• Excellent communication, risk management, and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 30%.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end engineered packaging projects for Vehicle and Energy platforms.
• Collaborate with Design, Manufacturing, NPI, and Operations to gather and develop packaging requirements.
• Partner with Supply Chain and Logistics to enable efficient delivery of parts without compromising quality.
• Provide design direction for protective packaging containers, dunnage, and shipping racks (domestic & international).
• Apply CAD and technical design methods including datum structure, GD&T, and tolerance stack‑up analysis.
• Monitor KPIs and drive packaging standards and continuous improvement.
• Manage expendable to returnable packaging projects and sustainability initiatives.
• Oversee project budgets, risks, vendor selection, and change management.
