Job summary

Boeing seeks a Lead P-8 Maintenance Technician to support the P-8A Site Activation Support Team at NAS Whidbey Island, WA. This 100% onsite role leads maintenance activities on P-8 systems, supervises a team, and ensures flight-worthiness across complex pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical subsystems.

The position requires 5+ years of aircraft maintenance experience, willingness to deploy domestically/internationally, and ability to work variable shifts including weekends.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience with General Aircraft Mechanic techniques and processes.
• Experience with team building, leading cross functional teams.
• At the sole discretion of leadership, must be willing and able (on potentially short-notice) to deploy/travel to a variety of locations (domestic and international) and for a variety of deployment durations to meet customer needs and the statement of work.
• Must be willing to work variable shifts, including weekends and overtime. Some positions may also be rotating shifts.

Responsibilities

• Leads the assembly, disassembly and modification of systems by overseeing the change, removal, replacement or upgrade of aerospace vehicle components to correct failures or implement changes.
• Oversees assembly, disassembly or overhaul.
• Configures aerospace vehicles and bench test equipment.
• Directs troubleshooting of complex pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical systems to isolate mechanical or electrical faults and repair faulty components.
• Oversees validation/verification testing of systems and components.
• Documents procedures and established processes to ensure contractual and regulatory compliance (e.g., repairs, test results, applicable modifications and inspection results).
• Inspects components and verifies repairs for flight worthiness requirements.
• Leads and supervises others to perform tasks associated with the safe handling of an aerospace vehicle (e.g. jacking, towing, system operations).
• Provides training and mentors others.
• Works under minimal direction.
