Job summary

The Brigham and Women's Hospital, Inc. is seeking an experienced Orthopedic Technician to support diagnosis, treatment, and management of orthopedic conditions under the direction of an orthopedic surgeon.

You will train staff, assist in applying casts, braces, splints, and may help in surgical procedures. Qualified candidates have 3–5 years of orthopedic patient care experience, a High School Diploma or equivalent, and BLS certification; OTC certification and NBCOT preferred.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Licenses: BLS, OTC; NBCOT preferred.

Responsibilities

• Applies knowledge and skills of cast application, traction set-up and maintenance.
• Trains staff and provides guidance on orthopedic devices.
• Plans, implements, and monitors budget for orthopedic supplies and equipment.
• Collaborates with physicians and nurses regarding equipment utilization.
• Participates in orthopedic quality improvement activities and monitoring.
