Job summary

Boeing Huntsville is seeking a Lead/Senior Responsible Engineer for the Seeker IPT within the PAC-3 program. You will lead a multidisciplinary team to ensure design, production, and testing excellence for the Seeker subsystem and associated circuit cards.

The Boeing PAC-3 program is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead or Senior Responsible Engineer (RE) for the Seeker Integrated Product Team (IPT) in Huntsville, Alabama. As the RE for the Seeker IPT, you will lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers to ensure the successful design and manufacturing of the PAC-3 to meet the performance, reliability, and safety requirements of the Seeker subsystem and circuit card assemblies within the PAC-3 RF Seeker. The RE will be the technical authority over the development, design, production, and test of the assigned PAC-3 Seeker.
The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Patriot Advanced Capability (PAC-3) program produces seekers everyday as well as developing a new design of the seeker. This program is an air-defense missile system designed to counter tactical ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and advanced aircraft where Boeing is the original engineering manufacturer of the seeker. Boeing’s seekers provide active data to the PAC-3 missile which enables it to acquire, intercept and destroy threats using hit-to-kill technology. The PAC-3 Seeker team is a cross functional, highly skilled, motivated group embracing the beliefs that focused safety, execution, LEAN manufacturing and business practices will secure our future and well-being, driving our product to be the seeker of choice for the PAC-3 program and future generations of weapon systems.

Position Responsibilities

• Establishes a culture of proactive technical oversight, risk management and rapid issue resolution, providing alternative paths for issue resolution and an open dialogue on technical issues
• Lead requirement, function, and interface development for the PAC-3 Seeker
• Oversee the design of products provided in support of development, production, and sustainment changes
• Present data for the product at Design Reviews, product Acceptance and Qualification Reviews, and Delivery Reviews as required
• Guide technical path for product definition and execution
• Drive IPT to a position of System Integration for PAC-3 — drive coordination between IPT and Program technical staff
• Accountable to IPT Lead, IAMD CE and respective Program CEs
• Technical authority over the development, design, production, and test of the assigned PAC-3 Seeker

This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
• Proven experience (5+ years) leading a multi-disciplinary engineering team in development or production environments
• Experience with executing engineering in support of program milestone reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, etc)
• Engineering experience on development and production programs
• Experience supporting or managing engineering release processes
• Experience mentoring early career engineers
• Fundamental knowledge of radar systems, seeker CONOPs, or seeker architectures

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)

• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex systems and troubleshoot technical issues
• Familiarity with technical proposal development
• Familiarity with test equipment design and validation

Typical Education/Experience

Lead: 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications
Senior: 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications
