Job summary

Eco Pack in Ohio is seeking a Production Team member to operate and maintain packaging machinery. You will perform setup, load materials, run 7:00AM-7:00PM shifts Fri-Sun, ensuring production goals and safety guidelines are met.

Responsibilities include monitoring machine performance, performing basic maintenance, cleaning, quality checks, and collaborating with Lead Tech and Plant Manager to resolve issues.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Must read, write, speak and understand English.
  • Basic math skills and ability to read machine manuals.
  • Forklift experience preferred; manual lifting up to 50lbs.
  • Prior machining experience preferred but not required.
  • Adherence to health and safety regulations and PPE usage.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor bags in production and take hourly quality samples.
  • Perform machine setup, changes, and changes overs efficiently.
  • Operate production equipment (2–4 machines) and meet weekly goals.
  • Maintain raw materials on the machine and keep the area clean.
  • Follow manuals, perform preventive maintenance, and document activity.
  • Transfer equipment and materials; assist with safety and quality guidelines.
  • Lead team members during issues and ensure KPI targets are met.
  • Complete daily logs and reports on maintenance and production.

Position Purpose

Responsible for various day-to-day functions, from setup and loading to operating machinery with efficiency. Ensure the machine’s performance allows every aspect of production to run smoothly and safely. Monitor, maintain and operate equipment. Cleaning and quality-checking machinery to ensure everything works as it should. Lead preventive maintenance process. Make quick decisions and a strong attention to detail to ensure no machinery issues go unnoticed. Works with Lead Tech & Production Manager to ensure equipment runs appropriately and all manufacturing goals are met. Collaborate with Lead Tech/Maintenance to complete all required repairs and maintenance for their assigned machinery.

Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED diploma.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
  • Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and perform basic math computations as needed.
  • Previous Power Industrial Truck experience preferred.
  • Ability to lift heavy loads and transfer them manually.
  • Previous Machining experience preferred but not required.
  • Have basic mechanical aptitude.
  • Adherence to health and safety regulations (e.g., constant use of protective gear) Ability to read machine manual.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Technical degree is a plus.
  • 2 years previous experience as a machine operator.
  • Good understanding of how production equipment works.
  • Knowledge of basic safety rules and precautionary measures.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
  • Monitor the progress of bags being run, making sure hourly samples are taken in order to inspect quality, catch any defects and unnecessary waste.
  • Machine changeovers/order changes and ensure they are completed in a timely manner.
  • Operate production equipment, 2-4 machines.
  • Meet weekly production goals.
  • Maintain raw material levels on machine - paper, paste/glue and ink.
  • Keep the worksite clean to avoid hazards from chemicals and fragile products.
  • Review and follow manufacturing manuals to build machinery.
  • Transfer equipment, raw product, and finished product manually or with forklift trucks.
  • Follow the company’s safety and quality guidelines.
  • Clean, repair machines and perform preventive maintenance.
  • Complete daily – Activity log, preventive maintenance, waste, quality and production report.
  • Ability to load trailers with finished product to ship.
  • Ability to unload trailer with raw material.
  • Set up machines (calibration, cleaning etc.) to start a production cycle.
  • Feed/Thread raw material or parts to machines.
  • Inspect parts with precision and measuring tools.
  • Test operation of machines periodically.
  • Fix machine issues that occur during the shift, elevate large issues to upper management.
  • Check output to spot any machine-related mistakes or flaws to quality.
  • Assist catching bundles and prepare skids for shipment.
  • Lead team members when issues arise and when processes are not being followed.
  • Holds team(shift) accountable for all implemented KPI’s.
  • Other miscellaneous duties assigned by management.

  • Reports noncompliance with policies, procedures, regulations, or breaches in confidentiality to appropriate personnel.
  • Reports any retaliation or discrimination to supervisor or production manager.
  • Participates in all life safety and emergency drills and trainings. Fulfills responsibilities as assigned during implementation or activation of the plant's emergency plan.
  • Reports work-related injuries and illnesses immediately to supervisor.
  • As a condition of employment, completes all assigned training and safety competency.
  • Follow all plant established safety guidelines.

  • Ability to lift and carry at least 50lbs.
  • Ability to move light to moderately heavy objects.
  • Ability to handle tools and equipment.
  • Ability to work under tight schedules in high pressure situations.
