Job summary

Eco Pack in Ohio is seeking a Warehouse Clerk/Material Handler for the second shift (3PM-11PM) to keep the manufacturing plant clean, safe and operational. You will unload and load trailers using a forklift and collaborate with the Production Team to move material and finished product smoothly.

You must have a high school diploma or GED, be able to read and write English, perform basic math, and lift heavy loads. Strong teamwork and attention to detail are essential to succeed in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Load trailers accurately with finished product.
  • Unload raw material from trailers.
  • Transfer rolls of paper from warehouse to production floor.
  • Recognize defects in raw material and notify supervisor.
  • Use equipment to test raw materials.
  • Inventory control of the warehouse using equipment and Excel spreadsheets.
  • Establish a working relationship with Production Team to formulate objectives.
  • Set an example of a clean worksite to avoid hazards from chemicals and fragile products.
  • Ensure shipping procedures are timely.
  • Be an example of the company’s safety and quality guidelines.
  • Other duties assigned by management.

Second Shift 3PM-11PM

Position Purpose

Responsible for keeping the manufacturing plant clean, safe and operational at all times. They must have strong organizational skills to unload and load trailers with a forklift. Have a good eye for detail to notice any defects in final product and defects with raw material. Teamwork is essential to being a plant material handler. Responsible for collaborating with Production Team to move material and finished product smoothly and safely. Work independently to accomplish tasks around the plant assigned by Plant Manager.

Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED diploma.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
  • Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and perform basic math computations as needed.
  • Ability to lift heavy loads and transfer them manually.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Proven work experience as a Warehouse Clerk or similar role
  • Prior experience working in a warehouse
  • Ability to operate forklifts and other heavy machinery
Preferred Qualifications
  • 12 months previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Previous Power Industrial Truck experience.
  • Good understanding of how inventory works.
  • Ability to detect potential problems with raw material or finished product.
  • Knowledge of basic safety rules and precautionary measures (safety gear will be provided).
Major Duties and Responsibilities
  • Load trailers accurately with finished product.
  • Unload raw material from trailers.

  • Treats all Eco Pack stakeholders with dignity and respect.
  • Establishes a culture of compliance by adhering to all facility policies and procedures. Complies with standards of business conduct, and state/federal regulations and guidelines.
  • Follow appropriate safety and hygiene measures at all times to protect staff and themselves.
  • Maintains confidentiality of protected production information, including verbal, written, and electronic communications.
  • Reports noncompliance with policies, procedures, regulations, or breaches in confidentiality to appropriate personnel.
  • Reports any retaliation or discrimination to Human Resources or Plant Manager.
  • Participate and train in all life safety and emergency drills and trainings. Fulfills responsibilities as assigned during implementation or activation of the plant's emergency plan.
  • Reports work-related injuries and illnesses immediately to Plant Manager.
  • As a condition of employment, completes all assigned training and safety competency.
  • Follow all plant established safety guidelines.

  • Ability to work beyond normal working hours and on weekends and holidays when necessary.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, perform overhead lifting and perform other common physical movements as needed for the position.
  • Ability to work under conditions such as heat and cold.
  • Ability to lift and carry at least 75lbs.

Periodic revision may be necessary to reflect changes in expectations placed on the Production Team by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). This job description will be reviewed and/or revised by the Plant Manager annually and as needed.
