Job summary

Georgia-Pacific in Pennington, AL, seeks a Performance Development Leader to guide the Tissue Mill team. This role directly leads 25+ Paper machine Operators and partners with engineers to advance operator capability using Principled-Based Management and Operations Excellence tools.

The role emphasizes mentoring, coaching, and developing hourly employees, with a focus on long-term value delivery for the mill and company.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience directly leading others in relevant settings.
• Experience in heavy industrial/manufacturing environments (or military or related).
• Ability to work extended hours, weekends, and rotate on-call as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop operators using Principled-Based Management to improve capability.
• Lead development and implementation of Performance, Skills, and Qualifications capability; address gaps across the work platform.
• Advance individual capability through strategic coaching and training materials and procedures.
• Align individual roles and expectations with department, mill, and organizational goals to maximize long-term value.
• Hold team and individuals accountable for operating strategies and results.
• Develop processes and systems that promote knowledge transfer to all team members.
• Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and other leaders to identify and address performance gaps.
