Job summary

Georgia-Pacific in Pennington, AL, seeks a Performance Development Leader to guide the Tissue Mill team. This role directly leads 25+ Paper machine Operators and partners with engineers to advance operator capability using Principled-Based Management and Operations Excellence tools.

The role emphasizes mentoring, coaching, and developing hourly employees, with a focus on long-term value delivery for the mill and company.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience directly leading others in relevant settings.
• Experience in heavy industrial/manufacturing environments (or military or related).
• Ability to work extended hours, weekends, and rotate on-call as needed.

Georgia-Pacific has an exciting opportunity as a talented Performance Development Leader to support the Tissue Mill team at our Naheola Paper Manufacturing site located in Pennington, AL. This role will report to the Performance Development Leader and directly lead 25+ Paper machine Operators.

The Performance Development Leader is responsible for the positive technical and behavioral development of the Operators. They will serve as a resource to the Tissue Mill Department Performance Development Leader, Production Leader, mentor to the operations team, and work with the Tissue Machine Manufacturing Engineers to advance the capability of operators. The Performance Development Leader will effectively lead, mentor, supervise, coach, and develop hourly employees utilizing the Principled-Based Management process and Operations Excellence tools to improve capability and performance.

What You Will Do

• Lead and foster an environment that develops principled business owners who canidentifylearning/development solutions andoptimizeequipment
• Lead development and implementation of Performance, Skills, and Qualifications capability. Also,address performance gaps for Team Leaders and Operators against individual capability and performance measurements across the work platform
• Be the leader in advancing individual capability through strategic coaching and creative training materials and procedures
• Ensure that individual roles, responsibilities, and expectations (RR&E’s) are aligned with department, mill, and organizational goals toassuremaximizing real long-term value for the company
• Hold team and individuals accountable for operating strategies and results
• Develop processes and systemsthatpromote thetransferof knowledge to all team members
• Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, the pulp and woodyard department team members, and other salaried leaders within the mill to assure master tech/technician performance gaps areidentifiedand addressed

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• Two (2) or more years of experience directly leading others to support and improve performance gaps against individual capabilities
• Experience working inaheavy industrial, manufacturing, military,or related environment
• Ability to work extended hours, when necessary, serve on aweekendduty team on a rotational basis, and work/lead shift ifrequired
