Job summary

GHD North America seeks a Lead - Onshore Wind to build capability in Canada and selected U.S. markets. You will steer front-end engineering, environmental assessments and permitting, expanding into ESI with BESS while providing owner's engineering and delivery support.

With 10–15+ years in wind development and North American delivery, you will lead a multi-disciplinary team, coordinate with clients, utilities, and OEMs, and leverage hybrid work practices to enable high-impact projects.

Qualifications

• Engineering or environmental degree; P.Eng./PE eligible preferred.
• 10–15+ years in onshore wind development/design/permitting in North America.
• Experience with front-end / owner’s engineer responsibilities is a plus; bilingual English/French an asset.

Responsibilities

• Lead market strategy prioritizing environmental and front-end engagements with BESS and T&D.
• Direct resource assessment, constraints mapping and micro-siting; prepare layouts and CAPEX/OPEX inputs.
• Undertake/oversee LCOE analyses and techno-economic modelling.
• Build a multi-disciplinary team and standardize deliverables for cost-competitive delivery.
• Deliver front-end, owner's engineering and construction phase services; coordinate with BESS/T&D.

Who are we looking for?

GHD North America is seeking a Lead - Onshore Wind to build capability in Canada and selected U.S. markets.

Position Overview

You will leverage early-phase studies - including environmental and permitting assessments, geotechnical investigations, and site feasibility analyses - as strategic entry points, then expand into Energy Systems Integration (ESI) and hybrid offerings with BESS, while providing owner's engineering and delivery support. Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of duties and will see you involved in:

Duties

• Lead market strategy prioritizing environmental and front-end engineering engagements that integrate with BESS and T&D; coordinate with Clean Power leadership for bundled offerings.
• Direct resource assessment, constraints mapping and micro-siting; prepare layouts, specifications and CAPEX/OPEX inputs; review OEM tenders and third-party designs.
• Undertake/oversee LCOE analyses and techno-economic modelling.
• Build a multi-disciplinary team; leverage Global Collaboration Centres to standardize deliverables and scale cost-competitively.

What you bring to the team

• 10-15+ years in onshore wind development/design/permitting with North American delivery experience in all aspects of windfarms including site development and servicing
• Strong client network with developers, utilities and OEMs; proven capture of multi-project frameworks and owner's engineer roles.
• Offshore wind experience and solar PV would be an asset

Requirements

• Engineering or environmental degree; P.Eng./PE (or eligibility) preferred; bilingual English/French an asset.
• Excellent cross-disciplinary coordination and communication skills; willingness to travel.
