Job summary

Sigma Earth is seeking a senior wind energy development leader in the United States to drive front-end engineering, Owner’s Engineer, and construction support for renewable projects. You will collaborate with BESS and T&D teams to deliver integrated hybrid energy solutions and enhance grid readiness.

Lead multidisciplinary teams, share knowledge, and advance engineering tools and playbooks to optimize delivery costs and project execution. Willingness to travel is required.

Qualifications

  • 10–15+ years of experience in onshore wind project development, engineering, permitting, and project delivery across North America.
  • Extensive expertise covering the full wind project lifecycle, including site identification, development, design, construction support, and operational services.
  • Established relationships with renewable energy developers, utilities, independent power producers (IPPs), and OEMs, with a demonstrated track record of securing framework agreements and Owner’s Engineer assignments.
  • Experience in offshore wind and utility-scale solar PV projects is considered an advantage.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Sciences, or a related discipline.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng./PE) certification or eligibility is preferred.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and French is an added advantage.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and cross-functional coordination skills.
  • Willingness to travel based on project and client requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality front-end engineering, Owner’s Engineer, and construction support services for renewable energy projects.
  • Collaborate with Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and Transmission & Distribution (T&D) teams to develop integrated hybrid energy solutions and improve grid readiness.
  • Mentor technical teams, promote knowledge sharing, and support capability development across the organization.
  • Develop standardized methodologies, engineering tools, templates, and best-practice playbooks to improve project execution, proposal development, and delivery efficiency.

Job description

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute market strategies focused on environmental consulting and front-end engineering opportunities, integrating Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and Transmission & Distribution (T&D) solutions while collaborating with Clean Power leadership to deliver integrated service offerings.
  • Lead resource assessments, site feasibility studies, environmental constraints mapping, and micro-siting activities for wind energy projects.
  • Prepare conceptual layouts, technical specifications, and CAPEX/OPEX estimates, while reviewing OEM proposals and third-party engineering designs.
  • Conduct and oversee Levelized Cost of Energy (LCOE) assessments, techno-economic analyses, and financial modeling to support project development and investment decisions.
  • Build, lead, and mentor multidisciplinary engineering teams while leveraging Global Collaboration Centres to standardize project deliverables, improve operational efficiency, and optimize delivery costs.
