Job summary

Ahwatukee Post Acute is seeking a Staff Occupational Therapist to evaluate residents, develop and manage OT treatment plans, and supervise OT Assistants in direct resident care. The role includes educating residents and families, ensuring compliant documentation, and participating in multidisciplinary meetings.

The ideal candidate holds a state license, a Bachelor’s in Occupational Therapy (Master’s/Doctorate preferred), and CPR certification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy required; advanced degree preferred.
• Licensed to practice OT in the state.
• CPR certification required by licensure where applicable.
• Ability to supervise COTA, aides and students.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate residents to determine OT needs, functional limitations and rehab potential.
• Develop, implement, and update individualized OT treatment plans.
• Supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants in direct resident care.
• Educate residents, families, and caregivers on goals, home exercise programs, and safety.
• Maintain timely, accurate documentation in medical records.
• Communicate progress to physicians, nursing staff, and families; participate in care conferences.
