Job summary

MissionCare at Bennington is seeking an Occupational Therapist to evaluate, plan, direct, and administer occupational therapy treatments as prescribed by a licensed physician. The role aims to restore function and promote independence within patient capabilities.

You will supervise department staff, assess treatment effectiveness, develop plans, and collaborate with patients, families, and physicians. Maintain documentation and safety standards across care delivery.

Qualifications

• Licensed Occupational Therapist (or eligibility for licensure).
• Strong clinical and organizational skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Commitment to patient-centered care and professional development.

Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise Occupational Therapy Department staff and students.
• Observe and evaluate treatment effectiveness; recommend changes to physicians.
• Perform patient assessments, develop treatment plans, and conduct reassessments.
• Develop and implement teaching plans; involve patients and families in learning.
• Demonstrate knowledge and proficiency in OT modalities.
• Treat patients and families with respect; address psychosocial needs.
• Manage and operate therapy equipment; ensure department safety and cleanliness.
• Collaborate with patients and families in care plans and coordinate with physicians.
• Communicate effectively with physicians, staff, and administration.
• Maintain records related to staff and operations and meet documentation standards.
• Participate in staff education and performance improvement activities.
• Assist with orientation and training of new certified staff members.
• Provide evaluations for certified staff.
