Job summary

The Full-Time Lead Occupational Therapist (OT) will join a Skilled Nursing Facility in Queens, NY. This role combines leadership with direct patient care, mentoring therapy staff, and ensuring clinical excellence.

You will supervise the rehabilitation team, support treatment planning, and help maintain regulatory compliance and timely documentation, while maintaining a partial caseload as directed.

Qualifications

• Valid New York OT license.
• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
• Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Rehab Director in supervising the rehabilitation department and therapy staff.
• Provide leadership, mentorship, and clinical guidance to therapists.
• Support patient care needs, treatment planning, and problem-solving.
• Ensure efficient department operations and adherence to facility policies.
• Collaborate with the Rehab Director on scheduling and departmental needs.
• Promote compliance with regulatory requirements and documentation standards.
• Maintain a partial clinical caseload as determined by the Rehab Director.
• Support accuracy and timeliness of clinical documentation.

Key Responsibilities

Assist the Rehab Director in the supervision and support of the rehabilitation department, including occupational, physical, and speech therapists, as well as therapy aides

Provide leadership, mentorship, and clinical guidance to therapy staff

Support team members with patient care needs, treatment planning, and problem-solving

Help ensure efficient department operations and adherence to facility policies and procedures
