Job summary

The Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation (BWC) in Columbus is seeking a dedicated field investigator to conduct and lead complex safety inspections. You will perform surveillance and diagnostic work in the field, assessing compliance with federal OSHA and Ohio standards while advising employers on corrective actions.

Primary responsibilities include identifying hazards, supporting enforcement activities, and communicating findings to stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 12 months experience citing, interpreting, & applying Federal OSHA regulations.
• 12 months experience conducting air, noise, & chemical monitoring & sampling using related industrial hygiene equipment.
• Ability to travel throughout Ohio, field and office environment as required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary investigator on fatality and other complex enforcement inspections.
• Perform complex industrial hygiene and occupational safety inspections to ensure compliance with OSHA standards.
• Provide Ohio employers and employees with occupational health and safety compliance assistance.
• Identify safety and health hazards and facilitate compliance with Ohio standards.
