Job summary

Orion Placement seeks an experienced attorney to lead and manage a docket of complex New York municipal personal injury matters from inception to resolution. You will craft case strategies aimed at maximizing client outcomes and drive litigation forward through depositions, motions, and trials.

The role requires oversight of depositions, court appearances, mediations, and trial preparation, with responsibility for mentoring junior staff and collaborating across the team to grow the practice.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• 4+ years of litigation experience.
• Strong knowledge of New York personal injury law.
• Experience with depositions, motion practice, court appearances, mediations, and trial preparation.
• Excellent written and oral advocacy and case-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a caseload of complex New York personal injury and municipal claim matters from inception through resolution or verdict.
• Develop case strategies designed to maximize outcomes for clients.
• Conduct depositions, motion practice, court appearances, mediations, and trials.
• Analyze claims, evidence, liability, damages, and litigation strategy throughout each matter.
• Communicate effectively with clients, experts, opposing counsel, courts, and other case stakeholders.
• Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to move cases efficiently and strategically.
• Mentor junior attorneys and support staff while contributing to a high-performing litigation team.
• Help drive departmental initiatives, operational improvements, and continued practice growth.
