Job summary

Honeywell Aerospace in Phoenix seeks an experienced NX Expert/Sr Advanced Mechanical Design Engineer specializing in high-pressure turbine components. You will lead design, analysis, and manufacture-ready documentation for turbine blades, nozzles, and disks, collaborating across engineering teams to meet performance, durability, and weight goals.

The role emphasizes mentoring junior engineers, applying DFMA, GD&T per ASME Y14.5, and presenting progress to stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 10 years of NX CAD experience for mechanical design
• Experience with gas turbine engines, especially high-pressure turbine components
• 5+ years of mechanical design and engineering experience focused on high pressure turbine design
• Proven expertise in engine internals design, particularly high-pressure turbine blades, vanes, and disks
• Proficient application of ASME Y14.5 drawing standards including GD&T

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and optimization of high-pressure turbine components within gas turbine engines
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to meet customer and regulatory requirements
• Drive all phases of product development from concept through testing and certification
• Mentor and coach junior engineers, fostering technical growth
• Use advanced CAD tools for 3D modeling and documentation of turbine components
• Coordinate with analysis teams for stress, thermal, and aerodynamic assessments
• Apply DFMA principles and conduct cost estimation
• Lead project teams to resolve engineering challenges and deliver on schedule
• Present designs and progress updates to stakeholders incorporating customer feedback
• Travel up to 10% US
• Relocation support may be provided
