Job summary

Honeywell Aerospace in Phoenix, AZ seeks an Advanced Mechanical Design Engineer to design, develop and analyze static gas turbine engine components, performing strength, fatigue, containment, heat transfer analyses and supporting tests.

You will report to the Mechanical Design Engineering Manager on a hybrid schedule, with 90 days onsite initially, and participate in design reviews, risk management, and process improvements while collaborating with project teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline such as sciences, technology, engineering, or mathematics.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience performing structural analysis on gas turbine engines.
• Proficiency in linear static, nonlinear/elastic-plastic, fatigue, modal, shock, harmonic, random vibration, and crack growth analyses.
• Strong working knowledge of ANSYS finite element software and hand calculation methods.

Responsibilities

• Perform stress analysis using finite element and classical methods, and support testing.
• Manpower, task and schedule planning and project coordination.
• Ensure project and product compliance and manage risk.
• Contribute to process development and root cause analysis.
