Honeywell Aerospace in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Sr Advanced Mechanical Design Engineer – Mechanical Systems to lead design and analysis activities for bearings, gears, seals, and lubrication systems in engine and power-system applications. You will mentor teams, support testing, and contribute to development of new products for turbofan, turboshaft and APU platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field.
• Minimum 6 years’ experience in mechanical design and analysis of aerospace components.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience with mechanical systems including gears, bearings, seals, and lubrication systems.

Responsibilities

• Serve as SME to complete design and analysis tasks for bearings within engines and power system applications.
• Perform life, fit, and clearance analyses; determine bearing configurations for turbine engines and motor/generator applications.
• Generate documentation of engineering results following design, simulation, analysis and test activities.
• Support testing of components and engine modules across lifecycle stages and perform data reduction/analysis on test data.
• Lead design and analysis activities for Mechanical Systems in engines and power system applications; coordinate 1–2 contributors.
