Job summary

Rogers Memorial Hospital, Inc. seeks a Lead Scheduling Specialist to oversee centralized nursing staffing, ensuring cost-effective coverage aligned with census, budgets, and acuity. The role requires proactive master scheduling, cross-site coordination, and data-driven decision making using Excel-based reports.

You will collaborate with clinical managers, manage overtime, and optimize the use of internal staff and float pools to meet patient care needs across Rogers campuses.

Qualifications

• Clean, accurate scheduling routines ensuring budget adherence.
• Ability to respond to scheduling requests and optimize coverage.
• Maintain and interpret staffing variance reports and relevant data.

Responsibilities

• Create daily staffing schedules per grid requirements and budget.
• Prepare master schedule 2+ weeks in advance.
• Incorporate full-time, part-time, and float staff to ensure adequate nursing resources.
• Monitor overtime and control costs when creating schedules.
• Verify time and attendance using Kronos and reconcile with assignments.
• Post and communicate assignments to staff; adjust for absences or vacancies.
• Collaborate with clinical managers to plan for census changes and acuity shifts.
• Prepare pool availability schedules for float and residential staff across campuses.
• Document variances with rationale and seek approved alternatives when needed.
• Coordinate scheduling across Rogers-Oconomowoc and Milwaukee sites for nursing and social work pools.
• Ensure adherence to Joint Commission and regulatory requirements in scheduling.
