Job summary

U.S. Pacific Fleet seeks a Supervisory Nuclear Engineer to lead the Nuclear Test Engineering Division’s shift testing operations.

You will supervise the testing of nuclear reactor plant systems, provide technical direction, and resolve complex issues with authority while coordinating the work of Shift Test Engineers. The role requires a qualified Shift Test Engineer with at least GS-12 level experience, and readiness to travel to CONUS/OCONUS locations as needed for shipyard and on-board work.

Qualifications

• One year of specialized experience at GS-12 or equivalent.
• Must be a qualified Shift Test Engineer.
• Proven leadership in nuclear reactor plant overhaul, maintenance, testing and evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Shift Test Supervisor and lead testing operations for the assigned shift.
• Resolve complex technical problems with expert judgment.
• Coordinate testing activities for assigned ships and Shift Test Engineers.
• Negotiate agreements among organizations with valid concerns and experts in nuclear testing.
