Job summary

U.S. Pacific Fleet in Honolulu, Hawaii seeks a Professional Engineer to lead the Engineering Division's field engineering support for waterfront availabilities on assigned ship classes. You will manage non-nuclear and nuclear interface work with cognizant technical codes and supervise 8–30 personnel.

You will review prerequisite lists for nuclear interface events and high-risk evolutions, and provide ship-availability support for designated locations. Travel to CONUS/OCONUS sites may be required.

Qualifications

  • Specialized experience as a professional engineer managing engineering projects using AIM, eForms, DTR, and SUPDESK.
  • Developed Technical Work Documents (TWDs) and ordered materials to provide production and Ship's Force clear technical direction.
  • Troubleshot and resolved issues arising from submarine maintenance and repair.
  • Obtained off-project Engineering support for depot or intermediate level work.
  • One year of specialized experience at or equivalent to GS-12 is required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide field engineering support for waterfront availabilities on assigned ship class.
  • Prepare and delegate Engineering Division non-nuclear and nuclear interface work to cognizant technical codes.
  • Review and concur on prerequisite lists for nuclear interface key events and high-risk evolutions.
  • Supervise a workforce of approximately 8-30 employees involved in technical work execution and trouble desk duties.
  • Provide ship availability project field engineering support at assigned project location.
