Job summary

X-energy in Rockville, Maryland seeks a senior systems engineer to lead and implement comprehensive systems engineering across the full lifecycle. You will apply systems thinking to analyze, design and integrate interdependent components, develop functional and logical architectures using MBSE, and manage requirements, interfaces and change control within PLM frameworks.

Qualifications

• Typically, ten years of experience in an engineering role.
• A master’s degree may be in lieu of two years of experience.
• A Ph.D. may be in lieu of three years of experience.
• Experience with systems engineering software tools may substitute for years of experience.
• ABET-accredited bachelor’s degree in engineering is required.
• Experience in System Lifecycle Processes (ISO 15288), Requirements Management, and MBSE is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead systems engineering lifecycle efforts across the full lifecycle.
• Coordinate cross-disciplinary collaboration and manage requirements and interfaces.
• Develop functional and logical architectures using model-based methods within PLM frameworks.
• Perform risk assessment and develop mitigation strategies; support cost analyses and value engineering.
• Write and review engineering documentation and communicate progress to stakeholders.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in industrial and systems engineering (ABET-accredited)

Master’s degree in engineering may substitute for two years of experience

Ph.D. in engineering may substitute for three years of experience

Ten years of experience in an engineering role
