Job summary

Van Drunen Family of Companies is seeking a third-shift production supervisor to lead a multi-area team, ensuring safety, quality and efficiency across the production line.

You will coach workers, verify GMP/SOP compliance, and coordinate with other departments to meet daily goals. The role requires prior production leadership, strong math skills, and forklift experience (training provided).

Qualifications

  • Two years of production experience with prior team leadership preferred
  • Strong knowledge of food manufacturing processes, safety standards, and quality requirements
  • Basic computer skills: Excel, ERP systems, email, data entry
  • Ability to communicate clearly, lead by example, and address performance or operational issues effectively
  • Strong math skills and attention to detail for tracking inventory, weights, and production data
  • Forklift experience preferred; certification and training provided as needed

Responsibilities

  • Lead and guide a third-shift production team, setting work plans and preparing for each shift
  • Oversee production activities across multiple areas to ensure safety, quality and efficiency
  • Coach and train team members, enforcing GMPs, SOPs and safety protocols
  • Ensure equipment setup and operation are efficient, coordinating with other departments to improve safety and quality
  • Perform CCP checks, LOTO procedures, sanitation, and required documentation
  • Lead pre-shift meetings and support shift-change communication to meet production goals

  • Expected Pay Range: $24.25 $27.13
  • Bonus: This role may further qualify for supplemental compensation in the form of bonus and incentive programs, contingent upon achieving pre-established individual and company performance metrics.

What You'll Do
  • Lead and guide a third-shift production team, setting work plans, preparing for each shift, and filling in for the supervisor as needed.
  • Oversee food production activities across multiple processing areas to ensure safety, quality, and production standards are met.
  • Coach, train, and support team members, ensuring compliance with GMPs, SOPs, safety protocols, and attendance expectations.
  • Ensure efficient equipment setup, operation, and readiness while coordinating with other departments to improve safety, quality, and efficiency.
  • Perform and verify CCP checks, LOTO procedures, sanitation activities, and required documentation.
  • Lead pre-shift meetings, support shift change communication, and help meet production goals through effective decision-making and teamwork.
What You'll Bring
  • At least two years of production experience, with prior team leadership experience preferred.

Physical & Work Environment Requirements
  • Regular standing, walking, climbing stairs and ladders, bending, stooping, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to push or pull sizeable equipment and perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the shift.
  • Required use of personal protective equipment including respirators, hearing protection, eye protection, and head protection.
  • Work in environments that may be dusty, cold, hot, humid, wet, loud, or outdoors depending on assignment.
  • Primarily production-based work with minimal administrative duties, and the ability to meet all physical requirements with or without reasonable accommodation.
