Job summary

Gannett Publishing Services in Lakeland, FL is seeking a Newsprint Handler – Lead for a full-time first shift. You will earn $18.25 per hour based on experience and contribute to keeping the newsprint warehouse running smoothly.

Responsibilities include unloading truckloads, stocking and inventorying newsprint, and leading a small team while coordinating with press staff. This role requires forklift proficiency, physical stamina, and a proactive approach to safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Fork truck operation required; clamp truck experience a plus.
• Basic computer skills needed to manage warehouse data.
• Mechanically inclined to aid in troubleshooting equipment.
• Physically capable of lifting up to 80 pounds and handling heavy rolls.

Responsibilities

• Unload multiple truckloads of newsprint daily.
• Maintain organization of the paper warehouse.
• Accurately take inventory of newsprint types and sizes.
• Pull newsprint from the warehouse and move to holding area for press use.
• Lead and train team members as needed and cross-train for Reel Tender duties.
• Communicate with transport and logistics partners regarding arrivals.
