Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a Network Service Delivery Manager to lead a global customer-facing team responsible for the activation, delivery, governance, and operational readiness of customer-facing network connectivity services. This is a hands‑on leadership role focused on high-volume network service delivery, people management, automation, and operational transformation across a global ISP, carrier, data center, and interconnection environment. The team supports a high volume of customer network orders, including cross-connects, circuits, ports, IP bandwidth, cloud connectivity, and other interconnection services, with aggressive delivery SLAs that can be as short as 48 hours. The role acts as the bridge between Product, Network Engineering, Operations, and Customer-facing teams to ensure scalable, efficient, and consistent deployment of network services globally. Day to day responsibilities include:
- Lead and directly manage a global team of Network Service Delivery Engineers across AMER, EMEA, and APAC.
- Own high-volume delivery and activation of customer-facing network services including cross-connects, circuits, ports, Internet, IP Bandwidth, ServiceFabric, cloud connectivity, and transport services.
- Manage approximately 15+ customer network service orders per week, ensuring delivery against aggressive SLAs, including 48‑hour turnaround requirements.
- Manage team workload, performance, coaching, development, and customer escalations.
- Establish and track KPIs around order volume, SLA performance, backlog, delivery quality, and operational efficiency.
- Partner with Product Management, Network Engineering, Operations, and Customer Success to ensure successful service deployments.
- Identify manual provisioning activities and drive automation initiatives that reduce operational effort and improve delivery scalability.
- Support AI‑enabled workflows, self‑service capabilities, and automated service provisioning.
- Drive the consolidation and migration of legacy/manual network services into ServiceFabric and other automated delivery models.
- Improve inventory accuracy, data integrity, operational governance, and service delivery processes.
- Develop scalable processes and operating models to support future network products and increasing order volumes.
- Manage complex customer delivery escalations and ensure backend organizational or technical complexity does not negatively impact the customer experience.
- Coach, mentor, and develop a growing global engineering organization.
Skills and Requirements
- 8+ years of experience across Network Engineering, Network Service Delivery, Network Operations, Telecommunications, ISP, Carrier, Data Center Connectivity, or related environments.
- 3+ years of direct people management experience leading Network Service Delivery, Provisioning, Network Operations, or Network Engineering teams.
- Demonstrated experience with formal people leadership, including performance management, coaching, workload allocation, team development, and escalation management.
- Experience managing a high-volume network service delivery or provisioning operation, ideally supporting 15+ customer orders per week against defined SLAs.
- Experience delivering and activating network services such as cross-connects, circuits, ports, Internet/IP bandwidth, cloud connectivity, interconnection, and Layer 2/Layer 3 services.
- Strong knowledge of IP Networking, BGP, TCP/IP, Ethernet Services, Layer 2 / Layer 3 technologies, Data Center Interconnection (DCI), Cloud Connectivity, and Service Activation & Provisioning.
- Experience leading cross‑functional initiatives involving Engineering, Operations, Product, and Customer Success teams in a customer‑facing environment.
- Hands‑on experience with Cisco, Juniper, Arista, Nokia, or other carrier‑class networking platforms.
- Experience supporting routers, switches, optical transport equipment, and DWDM networks.
- Experience owning and improving service delivery KPIs, SLAs, customer escalations, provisioning workflows, and operational readiness.
- Strong understanding of network automation, process optimization, and reducing manual provisioning activities.
- Experience driving organizational change, operational transformation, and scalable service delivery.
- Experience working for a data center/colocation provider, ISP, telecommunications carrier, interconnection provider, or network service provider.
- Experience managing globally distributed engineering or service delivery teams across multiple regions and time zones.
- Experience with ServiceFabric or similar software‑defined interconnection/network‑as‑a‑service platforms.
- Experience transitioning legacy or manually provisioned network services to automated or self‑service delivery models.
- Knowledge of fiber infrastructure, structured cabling, patching standards, cross‑connects, and physical‑layer troubleshooting.
- Experience with network inventory, order management, provisioning, and service activation systems.
- PMP, Agile, ITIL, CCNP, JNCIP, or related certifications.
- Experience standing up new teams, functions, operating models, or service delivery organizations.
