Job summary

MITRE’s All-Domain Integration (ADI) Department seeks a Lead Network Engineer to design, prototype, and integrate SD-WAN and cloud architectures for DoD programs. The role requires hands-on networking, architecture guidance, and collaboration with government sponsors to deliver secure, resilient LAN/WAN solutions across unclassified and classified environments.

Responsibilities include network design, SD-WAN implementation, security risk assessments, data analytics, and lab oversight.

Qualifications

Minimum 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree, or 6 years with a Master’s, or 3 years with a PhD.
DoW 8140 IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+) within 3 months of hire.
Active DoD security clearance: Secret; ability to obtain Top Secret/SCI.
On-site presence required 3 days a week.

Responsibilities

Network Design: Defining validated designs for secure, scalable networks ready for implementation.
Software-Defined / Virtual Networks: SD-WAN, IPv4/IPv6, BGP/SRv6, Kubernetes, network segmentation.
Mission Security and Assurance: Risk assessments, mitigation recommendations, security posture evaluation.
Network Data Analytics: Monitoring, troubleshooting, dashboards, visibility into performance.
Tactical and Threat-Informed Networking: Integrating external threat feeds into routing decisions.
Lab oversight and administration: Manage cross-cutting experimentation environments.
