Job summary

MITRE is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to join the Enterprise and Tactical Networking team. You will apply expertise in enterprise networking, automation, and infrastructure architecture to address complex sponsor challenges across LAN/WAN, data center, and tactical operations.

The role emphasizes defining validated designs, configuring SDN/virtual networks, and conducting mission security assessments while improving network analytics and performance metrics.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of related experience with degree or equivalent.
• Must be eligible for Secret US government clearance; US citizen.
• On-site work required 4 days per week.
• Hands-on experience across design, prototyping, testing, and monitoring of networks.

Responsibilities

• Define validated network designs with implementation details.
• Configure and validate software-defined | virtual networks and traditional networking.
• Perform cybersecurity risk assessments and mitigation recommendations.
• Design, implement, and enhance network monitoring and data collection.
• Develop modeling, simulation, emulation, and testing methodologies.
• Create solutions for integrating external threat feeds into routing decisions.
• Collaborate across teams to design secure, scalable network environments.
