Job summary

Piper Companies is seeking a Sr. Network Engineer in Fort Meade, MD to support a government-focused technology environment responsible for maintaining and modernizing large-scale enterprise infrastructure. The Sr.

Network Engineer will need to sit onsite 5 days a week in Fort Meade MD. Leverage architecture discussions, drive network automation initiatives, and support mission-critical operations within a highly secure environment.

Qualifications

• TS/SCI clearance is required.
• 8+ years of experience in enterprise networking.
• CCIE certification preferred; CCNP Data Center or equivalent considered.
• Experience with routing/switching, SD-WAN, data center, and network security.
• Hands-on with Python, Ansible, APIs, Docker, GitHub, Linux, and Windows Server administration.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimize enterprise network and data center infrastructure for high-availability operations.
• Lead troubleshooting for routing, switching, security, and performance in large-scale environments.
• Translate business requirements into scalable network solutions as a technical advisor to stakeholders.
• Drive automation and operational efficiency using Python, Ansible, APIs, and infrastructure automation tools.
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams on modernization and migration projects.
