Job summary

STR’s Intelligence Division pursues advanced analytics and ML-based solutions for national security challenges. The Principal Network Systems Researcher will lead efforts in real-time data communications, edge and core networking, and deployable systems with a focus on quality and reuse.

The role requires high-level software engineering, collaboration with diverse teams, and the ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance.

Qualifications

• BS, MS, or PhD in Machine Learning, Computer Science or related Engineering discipline.
• Experience with SOTA machine learning to solve real-world problems.
• Strong networking/communications theory knowledge (OSI stack).
• Experience with software design patterns and modern VCS/CICD tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead research and engineering teams to develop innovative networking solutions.
• Decompose customer tasks and guide team execution.
• Develop and deliver novel software and hardware systems spanning R&D to production.
• Collaborate with academics and industry partners.
• Support business development and capture efforts.
