Job summary

U.S. Pacific Fleet seeks a senior engineer to oversee complex ship hull engineering products, ensure compliance with DoD requirements, and provide expert technical oversight. You will collaborate with fleet representatives, NAVSEA, and shipyard teams to resolve critical engineering concerns and implement improved procedures.

Applicants must meet GS-12 level qualifications, pass pre-employment checks, and obtain/maintain required security clearances; travel to CONUS/OCONUS sites may be required.

Qualifications

  • Specialized experience managing ship hull engineering products.
  • Ability to interpret strict technical requirements and procedures.
  • Experience interfacing with fleet representatives, NAVSEA, and shipyards.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor compliance with procedures and assess effectiveness.
  • Ensure safety of personnel and safe operation of systems.
  • Coordinate and develop existing and new processes; research, development or design work.
  • Coordinate with internal and external activities on technical/administrative matters.
  • Administer, manage and direct work on technical/process matters across agencies.
  • Provide senior technical expertise in ship maintenance, design, safety or emergency response.
  • Recommend and establish improved procedures for maintenance and repair of hull, mechanical and electrical systems.
