Job summary

General Dynamics NASSCO in Norfolk, VA seeks a Scheduler. The role develops critical path, resource-loaded production schedules and aligns schedules with AIT and subcontractors. You will produce management reports and support the Engineering & Scheduling Manager.

Ideal candidates have scheduling software proficiency, MS Office skills, and experience with CP analysis, WBS, and government contracting methods. Shift is first; travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Typically has a BA/BS in a related field plus two years directly related experience, or AA/AS plus four years’ directly related experience, or eight years’ directly related experience.
• Directly related experience in project management, production management preferred.
• Knowledgeable of scheduling software and Microsoft Office; proficient in activity definition, sequencing, CP analysis, resource loading and leveling.
• Familiar with Estimating and Contractual methods in a Government environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead scheduler for a CNO availability with minimal guidance; may lead multiple options.
• Review project contracts and drawings to define scope and schedule.
• Generate schedule-related proposal documents.
• Organize scope into major categories with milestones and deliverables.
• Sequence work priorities into a logical schedule; determine critical paths.
• Modify critical paths based on conditions and create Work Breakdown Structure.
• Understand and troubleshoot scheduling programs and deliverables.
• Train schedulers on processes and products for growth.
• Attend schedule reviews with Production, Trade, and Estimating teams.
• Report progress of scheduling as projects are built.
