Job summary

IES Residential is seeking a Multi-Family HVAC Superintendent to join our Indianapolis team. The role leads foremen and installation crews, coordinates manpower and project schedules, and supports successful completion of multi-family construction projects.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years HVAC field experience with 3-5 years supervisory leadership, reads blueprints, and communicates with project teams. This full-time on-site role requires a valid driver's license and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years HVAC field experience, with 3-5 years in supervisory roles.
• Multi-family residential HVAC construction experience preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints and mechanical plans.
• Strong leadership, coaching, and team management skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; English communications required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily HVAC construction and field operations at multi-family sites.
• Lead foremen and installation crews, manage subcontractors and field activities.
• Review plans, schedules, and installation documents to ensure accuracy and timely completion.
• Plan workforce needs and allocate manpower across projects.
• Monitor progress, safety, quality, and code compliance throughout all phases.
• Coordinate with project managers, GC, customers, and field teams.
• Identify and resolve field-related issues and scheduling delays.
• Maintain job site documentation and participate in coordination meetings.
• Provide leadership, training, and PPE compliance for crews.
• Assist with onboarding and skill development; travel as required.

Education

High school diploma or GED required

5+ years HVAC field experience

3-5 years supervisory/leadership

Blueprints/Mechanical plans reading

Safety compliance knowledge

Valid driver's license
