Job summary

Clear Point Consultants in North Atlanta Suburbs is seeking a Lead Integration API Engineer to design, build, and evolve enterprise-grade APIs and integration solutions. This hands-on technical leadership role focuses on modern API architecture, scalable REST APIs, and enterprise API management platforms.

You will lead API architecture, develop Java-based REST APIs, collaborate with cloud and data teams, and raise standards for security, performance, and lifecycle management.

Qualifications

We’re working with a growing organization that is looking for a Lead Integration API Engineer to design, build, and evolve enterprise-grade APIs and integration solutions.

This is a hands-on technical leadership role for someone who understands modern API architecture, knows how to build scalable REST APIs, and has experience working with enterprise API management platforms.

What You’ll Do:

• Design, develop, and support enterprise REST APIs and integration services
• Lead API architecture, standards, patterns, and best practices
• Develop Java-based REST APIs and integration services
• Work with enterprise API management platforms and API gateways
• Partner with application, cloud, data, and architecture teams to deliver integration solutions
• Establish standards around API security, scalability, performance, monitoring, and lifecycle management
• Troubleshoot complex integration and API issues
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to other engineers
• Help drive the organization toward modern, scalable integration architecture

What We’re Looking For:

• Strong hands-on experience developing Java-based REST APIs
• Experience with an Enterprise API Management platform, such as:
• MuleSoft Anypoint Platform
• Amazon API Gateway
• Strong understanding of REST, API design, authentication/authorization, and API security
• Experience with cloud-based application and integration architectures
• Solid understanding of microservices and distributed systems
• Experience with CI/CD, source control, and modern software engineering practices
• Ability to operate at both the architectural and hands-on development levels
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work across technical teams

Nice to Have:

• Experience with AWS, GCP, or both
• MuleSoft, Apigee, or AWS API Gateway certifications
• Experience with event-driven architecture, messaging, or asynchronous integrations
• Experience with API observability, governance, and lifecycle management
• Experience leading API modernization or enterprise integration initiatives
