Camden National Bank seeks an Underwriting Manager to lead a team of mortgage underwriters, ensuring sound credit decisions and policy adherence. You will guide lending on Conventional, Portfolio, FHA, VA, and RD loans while developing staff and maintaining strong investor relationships.

The role emphasizes policy mastery, regulatory compliance, and ongoing training to support growth and excellent customer service in a community banking environment in Maine.

Qualifications

7–10 years mortgage underwriting experience
3–5 years in a leadership role
Experience in banking or financial institution preferred

Responsibilities

Manage daily operations of underwriting department and complex cases
Oversee underwriters on Conventional, Portfolio, FHA, VA & RD loans
Oversee Consumer Lending Dept including policy adherence and staffing
Maintain knowledge of Camden National Bank Loan Policy and procedures
Ensure compliance with laws and fair lending practices
Develop training on industry- and bank-specific topics
Maintain relationships with investors, appraisers, brokers
