Lead Innovation in Advanced Power & Energy Systems

Are you an experienced Modeling & Simulation Engineer ready to take the next step in your career? We're seeking a Lead Modeling & Simulation Engineer to drive the development of advanced simulation technologies supporting next-generation power distribution, renewable energy, and energy storage systems.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing, innovation-focused Product Engineering and R&D organization developing advanced solutions for the evolving energy industry.

In this highly technical leadership role, you'll combine hands-on engineering expertise with the opportunity to lead a team of simulation engineers, influence product architecture, and help shape the future of distributed energy technologies.

If you have a strong background in MATLAB/Simulink, multi-physics modeling, power electronics, and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulation, this could be an excellent next step in your career.

What You'll Be Doing

Advanced Modeling & Simulation

  • Lead the development of sophisticated, physics-based simulation environments for electrical, thermal, and mechanical systems.
  • Develop and optimize models supporting distributed energy resources, renewable power generation, energy storage, and electrical power distribution.
  • Create scalable, modular component models with varying levels of simulation fidelity.
  • Integrate electrical, mechanical, thermal, and control system models to evaluate overall system performance.

Product Development & Innovation

  • Perform system architecture trade studies, performance evaluations, and optimization to guide product design decisions.
  • Evaluate technical performance, efficiency, cost, weight, and system requirements to identify optimal engineering solutions.
  • Develop proof-of-concept control algorithms and provide technical recommendations to embedded software and controls engineering teams.
  • Apply Design of Experiments (DOE), optimization techniques, and data-driven analytical methods to improve system performance.
  • Support technoeconomic analysis by integrating component costs, operating characteristics, and system-level performance into simulation models.

Simulation, Testing & Validation

  • Develop and utilize Model-in-the-Loop (MIL), Software-in-the-Loop (SIL), and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) simulation environments.
  • Integrate plant and control models to support testing, verification, and validation of controls software.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to validate models against actual system performance.
  • Establish modeling and simulation methodologies that improve development efficiency, accuracy, and product reliability.

Technical Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and guide a team of simulation engineers.
  • Serve as a technical subject matter expert across product engineering, systems engineering, and R&D.
  • Collaborate with engineering leadership and product strategy teams to define simulation requirements and development priorities.
  • Drive continuous improvement in modeling tools, methodologies, and engineering best practices.
