Job summary

Cox Fleet in New Jersey is hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician II for on-site work. This dedicated role does not include roadside emergencies; you will perform certified DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and both light and advanced repairs on trailers and equipment at customer sites.

You will act as site lead, manage parts and the service truck, conduct safety checks, and coordinate with clients to diagnose and triage issues.

Qualifications

• Certified DOT inspections and Preventative Maintenance on trailers and equipment.
• Light and advanced repairs performed in a mobile/field environment.
• Lead on jobsites and act as a consultant for customers.
• Safety-conscious with adherence to company procedures.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities.
• Effective communication with clients to assess needs and provide solutions.

Responsibilities

• Follow safe operating practices and procedures at all times.
• Independently manage parts inventory and equipment on the service truck.
• Maintain and operate company vehicle, including pre-/post-trip inspections.
• Apply training and technical knowledge to perform the job.
• Collaborate with clients to assess needs and provide assistance.
• Prioritize tasks and manage time allocations across multiple jobs.
• Maintain integrity, confidentiality, and ethical standards.
• Perform scheduled PM, DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on trailers.
• Respond to call center dispatched service requests.
